Holistic Health in Mental Health (and Treating Root Causes in Mental Health)

Updated: Jun 19, 2023

By Magnolia Heaton, LCSW I am writing this blog to inform you of a wonderful resource (a podcast!) I love this podcast because it is two medical providers, discussing various factors that contribute to overall health, to include mental health. I have been studying these topics for the past 15 years and they package it so well, so cohesively. They discuss specifics in regard to how different systems in the body are impacted by current toxins in our foods and environments, as well as remedies! Additionally, over the next few months, I am going to be training LIH staff and interns on functional medicine and ways we can take care of the body to help treat root physical causes of challenges in mental health (or, contributing factors that make managing trauma symptoms more challenging) and to support optimal mental health functioning. If you didn't know, we truly believe in treating root causes of complex, here at Love Is Healing. I am really excited to equip our Team with deeper understandings of the physical body and better ways we can take care of it.
